Priligy (Dapoxetine) for Premature Ejaculation
At present, Priligy is the only drug that has been developed specifically for the treatment of premature ejaculation. While Priligy has been approved in some European countries (Sweden, Austria, Finland, Germany, Spain, Italy and Portugal), it is still waiting approval in the USA and Canada.
Priligy is a new drug that has gained most of the people’s interest for it's usefulness as a treatment for premature ejaculation. The generic name for Priligy is dapoxetine hydrochloride. Dapoxetine is a useful treatment for men who are either unable to sustain ejaculation or suffer from premature ejaculation. The late-stage clinical trial found that premature ejaculators who took priligy dapoxetine, at doses of 30 or 60 milligrams, were able, on average, to triple or quadruple the time they could engage in sexual intercourse before reaching orgasm. Priligy is one of the unique drugs which regulates the ejaculation process in males. Premature ejaculation means the biological problem due to which a man ejaculates sooner than his actual carvings. It is a common male dysfunction for many men that is now treatable.
Also known as rapid ejaculation, premature ejaculation affects about 30-40% of the male population in the UK. It prevents men from controlling the process of ejaculation, leading to unsatisfactory sexual activity and affects most men at some time or other. The reasons behind premature ejaculation are mainly considered to be psychological in nature but certain conditions like prostate problems or urinary tract infection can also cause premature ejaculation. Most men and their partners try to live with this condition. However, with the introducion of Priligy there is now an effective medical treatment for premature ejaculation.
